During my morning bus rides to school in India, I crossed a troubling portrait. Slum housing spread across acres of land and, right next to it, lavish storied residential housing. This imagery constantly reminds me of the disparity of living conditions across the world. It made me acutely aware of the pressing need for safe and dignified housing, and the transformative power such environments can have on individuals and communities. The imagery became a driving force to enter the field of architecture and sustainability to explore best design practices that can enhance housing conditions for those in need.
During my professional career in Canada, I worked on complex infrastructure projects for leading companies in the AEC, retail and pharmaceutical sectors that hold sustainability at it’s forefront. And as I continue to grow in my career, I stay true to my mission by collaborating on housing projects in India and highlighting Indian non-profit organizations globally that aim to not only provide better homes but also foster a sense of hope and opportunity for those who need it most.
This work is more than just a professional endeavor for me—it's a personal commitment to uplift and empower communities that have long been overlooked. I invite you to join me on this journey in the hopes of creating lasting change.
